Awards

The quality and innovation of NEMUS’ work have, on several occasions, earned public acknowledgement in competitions and awards, as was the significantly noteworthy case, in 2004, of the Honourable Mention in Excellence in the Excellence in Environmental Restoration and Rehabilitation Prize, awarded by the Portuguese Association of Environmental Engineering in association with the Institute for the Environment and directly ensuing from NEMUS’ environmental restoration works in the Ria de Alvor area, in the Algarve, from 1999 to 2004.

More recently, a team constituted by NEMUS’s Director General Pedro Bettencourt and six employees won, jointly with Landscape Architects Studio ARPAS and Francisco Salpico, the 1st National Prize for Landscape Architecture 7th Edition 2011 – Category of Work, Sub Category Infrastructure Integration, for the PProjecto de Execução para a Recuperação Ambiental das Margens da Lagoa de Óbidos e da Concha de S. Martinho do Porto, which was awarded to the Consortium Consulmar / NEMUS.

As part of a business coalition that also comprised ARPAS – Arquitectos Paisagistas Associados, Lda. (Partnership of Landscape Architects) and the architect José Júlio Kruski, NEMUS has received the 1st Prize in the Concurso Público de Ideias para o Arranjo e Ordenamento da Frente de Mar de Lagos (Public Procurement for Ideas on Rearranging and Managing Lagos’ Seaside), promoted by the Direcção Geral do Turismo (Directorate-General for Tourism) in 1997.

A 3rd Prize, also in 1997, awarded in the Concurso Público de Ideias para Concepção da Imagem Coordenada da Rede Nacional de Ecotecas (Public Procurement for Ideas on Strategic Corporate Image Design for the National Network of Ecotheques / Eco libraries), promoted by the Institute for Environmental Promotion, under the Ministry for the Environment, is also worth mentioning.
