The aim was to identify in advance and to predict the environmental risks\u2019 mitigation of the plant\u2019s integration project at the head of the northern pier during the construction of this infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Focused on the descriptors geology and geomorphology, gaseous emissions, noise, ecology, flora and fauna, landscape, soil and land management, historical and cultural heritage and socio-economics, this study applied the best available methodologies, among which the acoustic study of the plant\u2019s operating conditions stands out, supported by computer simulations.<\/p>\n<p>The wave energy plant at the mouth of the Douro River aims to produce electricity from waves, using a system of oscillating water columns.
