The event that marked the opening of the bathing season, was attended by the Minister for Environment and Spatial Planning, Engineer Dulce \u00c1lvaro P\u00e1ssaro, the Mayor of \u00d3bidos, Dr. Telmo Faria, the Mayor of Caldas da Rainha, Dr. Fernando Costa and Dr. Orlando Borges, chairman of the National Water Institute (INAG).<\/p>\n<p>This re-qualification project of \u00d3bidos Lagoon began to be developed in 2000 for\u00a0INAG\u00a0and it was reformulated in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>NEMUS\u00a0developed a set of interventions in order to recover \u00d3bidos Lagoon and the surrounding areas to enhance the enjoyment of this places. To change people behavior and to reverse the existing trends of environmental degradation, was implemented a segregated cycle facilitie around the edge of the lagoon, were built car parks and several footbridges.
