The company was represented by Pedro Bettencourt (CEO) and Maria Grade (Senior Environmental Engineer) who did four presentations on Nemus\u2019 most representative experience in the scope of the event\u2019s central theme \u2018The New Directions in Environmental Impact Assessments\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The communications fell into four distinct sub-themes in which Nemus has been working on both nationally and internationally; therefore Nemus took the opportunity to share its experience in these areas through the following presentations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2018Integrated Environmental Assessment of the Urban Recovery of Salvador, Brazil\u2019 (sub-theme Impact Assessment of Major Projects)<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Identification and prediction of a large project\u2019s impacts \u2013 Port of Sines \u2013 in Portugal\u2019 (sub-theme Impact Assessment of Major Projects)<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Assessment of cumulative impacts of a major urban expansion project in Maputo (Mozambique)\u2019 (sub-topic Assessment of cumulative effects)<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Environmental Studies for the Implementation of a road connection system between Salvador and the Itaparica Island, across the Ba\u00eda de Todos os Santos bay (BA), integrated in the West Transport System\u2019 (sub-theme Methods for identification, prediction and evaluation of impacts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The main objetive of the 2nd Brazilian Impact Assessment Congress was to promote a discussion on the trends of the Brazilian impact assessment and environmental licensing system.<\/p>\n<p>Since Nemus has been involved in several projects in this country, its presence was early scheduled for this event, which was also attended by representatives of the public and private setor, consultants from various areas, funding agents and financial institutions, directors and technicians from environmental and planning agencies, academics and researchers from different fields.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nemus attended the 2nd Brazilian Impact Assessment Congress, which took place between the 13th and the 18th October, in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
