The environmental strategy assessment of the Land-Use Planning (LUP) of Bragança is part of the revision process to guarantee adequate spatial planning as the council and region evolves.

Nemus’ project describes and evaluates the effects of the plan on the environment, the reasonable alternatives within the objectives set by the municipality and the framework of land use. The most relevant critical factors for the decisions regarding the land transformation of the region were carefully studied and defined, such as soil use and spatial planning, natural resources and patrimony, biodiversity and land competitiveness. The produced environmental report enabled the definition of a system for environmental monitoring indicators of the LUP implementation to apply and publicize across the municipality.

In this area, Nemus’ portfolio includes dozens of environmental strategy assessments performed for Portuguese municipalities and urban planning and real estate development companies.
